CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

Be Ready
- Come to class on time.
- Bring materials to class (textbook, paper, writing utensils, homework).
- Begin bellwork as soon as you come into the classroom.
Be Respectful
- Follow the teacher's directions immediately.
- Talk only when permitted, Raise hand to be called upon.
- Stay in your seat while the lesson is being taught.
- No eating or drinking in class.
- Use polite speech and body language.
Be Responsible
- Do your homework and turn it in when it is due.
- Attend to personal needs before coming to class. Go to the restroom, socialize, get and prepare materials before class starts.
- Do not cheat. If you are caught, you will have to contact your parent or guardian immediately & explain to them why you chose to do so. You will then have to complete a more difficult, alternative assignment to show mastery.
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
- Daily Required Materials: 2+ Pens/Pencils, Paper, AR Book, Textbook (Pick up from Class Set & Return Before you Leave), Class Notes/Homework
- Start of Class:

- End of Class:
2) Return Textbook to Cabinet in the Back.
- Requests to go to the Restroom,Locker, etc.: Students will be able to leave the classroom only on rare and special occasions. If given permission, the student must write their own hall pass (name, date, time left) in the back of their planner and then bring it to the teacher to sign. Students should return quickly and quietly.
- Late Work: 10% off each day it is late
- Absences: It is your responsibility to ask for and complete the work (hw and notes) you missed. Look on this website and/or ask your homework buddy to share what you have missed, write it in your planner, then request materials from the teacher. Completion time follows NMS policy.
- When I Need Your Attention: I will say "Give Me Five" and hold up my hand. In those five seconds, you are to go through these five steps, in order, while counting each step in your head.

- Moving Through Out the School: Single file line on the right side of the hall
- Asking Questions: Remain seated and quietly raise your hand. I will nod and let you know that I will be with you soon.
- Finishing an Assignment Early: Read an AR Book, Work on Assignments from Other Classes, Visit Geography Websites on Computer with Permission
- Rewards: Book of Lists, Notecards, Earned Free Seating (5 Days of Excellent Behavior = Free Seating, 1 Day of Poor Behavior = Back to Assigned Seats and Start Over), Candy for 100% on Unit Tests
- Discipline:
- 4 Minors = 1 Major
- Continually disruptive, disrespectful, or destructive behavior will result in a personal conference, changes in assigned seating, phone calls home, lunch detention, and written referrals to the office.
